I'm leeeaving, on a jet plane!

Well, the ticket is bought, so there's no going back now...

I'm going to Europe this August for three and a half weeks!!! You can't see me right now, but I'm jumping up and down in my chair with glee!!!!! I'll be gone August 2-26, covering six countries.

So far the itinerary looks something like this:

Fly into Amsterdam, spend the evening/night there. I'll head to Belgium for a day in Brussels and a day in the medieval town of Brugge. On to Paris for 4 days, then to Munich to visit my friend Colleen for 2 days. I'll spend 4 days in Switzerland covering Zurich, Bern, and Lugano in the Swiss Alps, then spend a day and a half in Verona, Italy, home to Romeo & Juliet and the third largest Roman arena in existence. If I can get tickets, I may go see an opera in the arena. Then off I go to the Italian Riviera for 2 days in Cinque Terra, a series of five villages built right into the cliffs. I'll make my way back to the south of France for a day in Avignon, a day in Aix-En-Provence, and finish off with 2 and a half days in Nice. After some sunbathing on the French Riviera, I'll take a train back to Amsterdam and spend a day and a half exploring there before I fly back home.

I have so much to do! Rail passes to buy, hostels to book, cities ot research! I've been pouring over tour books and the internet for the last week, getting started on my plans.

Oh boy oh boy oh boy!!! I'm going to Europe!!!

Ahhh... I'm quite jealous... However, I hope you have fun even though I'm not going with you! =) And your French will come in so handy (they will like you way more than they like me!).

Sounds like a good trip, have fun!

Sorry you can't make it across the Channel (at least not while I'm actually around) :(

I'll be in Switzerland a little after you. I'm spending a week on the Montreux side of Lake Geneva. I need to learn French very quickly.

Yeah, Paul, it ended up being way cheaper to fly to Amsterdam, so I won't be making it to London! I'll come visit you another time! :D

Even as I join in with everyone else and say I am SO happy for you, I'm going to be honest and add that I am also GREEN with envy!!! Your trip sounds totally wonderful, and I hope you take tons of photos and keep a detailed and romantic journal of your wanderings through Europe. August will be here before you know it!

Hi, I came across your blog through The Pink Diary - very pretty. That sounds like a WONDERFUL trip you have planned! Traveling across Europe is something I've always wanted to do, but I never seem to have the time and the money at the same time LOL. Enjoy!

Think about flying short hops to save time. www.skyscanner.net. Sometimes much cheaper than flying.

Decent Paris Hotes - La Maison http://www.mamaison.fr/

Dont miss Menton on the french rivera between Italy and Monaco.

You are gonna have a great time, even if the schedule is packed tight. For 3 weeks I dont do more than 2 countries and 4-6 cities.
